Monthly Mentor - The Coffee Shop of Make-Believe

Welcome to the segment I like to call, Sugar For My Coffee!

Here we discover the individuals with whom this author would be most honored to sit across from and enjoy a coffee break. I close all my writings with this entrance into The Coffee Shop of Make-Believe to introduce my readers to another Success Mentor for life empowerment. That person's presence at the table would be Sugar For My Coffee!

He said, Most of the people I interviewed had different regrets. Almost all of them said they wished they had risked more but they specified that the risks were more about the heart than the body-being more true to themselves, pursuing their dreams and loving more deeply.

Many of them said they wished they had been more careful about how they used their time-about not wasting time on things that did not matter. They told me that we spend far too much time worrying about what others think of us and not enough time listening to our own inner voices. Many of them wished they had "really been there" for the people they loved. They also told me that the greatest fear at the end of life is not failure or even death. The greatest fear is that we had never lived and that our last words would be: "I wish I had" or "I should have…"

Our guest today in the Coffee Shop: John Izzo

Our guest in the Coffee Shop spent an entire year interviewing almost 250 people from the age of 60-106 about what they wish they had of done with their lives. He comprised his findings and wrote one of my favorite books I've been privileged to read this year. It is titled "The Five Secrets You Must Discover Before You Die."

When I started reading this book I couldn't put it down. It is one of those special reads you feel blessed to have stumbled upon. It will change how you do life! If you are as passionate about living a life of impact as I am, and you enjoy connecting with others living lives of influence, you have got to meet John Izzo.

Even Stephen Covey said of this book,

"No matter what your age, you will
wish you had read it sooner..."

Being Naked With a Pig is a Recipe for Some Serous Pain

You ever have one of those mornings when you are running late for work and try to do several things at the same time?

Such was the case for me several years back when I was single, but the lesson learned is invaluable.

I awakened from a deep sleep only to realize I had overslept and needed to rush in order to get to work on time. The problem was, I woke up very hungry and my appetite was getting the best of me. So, I decided to shower, lay out my clothes and cook up some bacon for a bacon sandwich to eat as I ran out the door.

The mistake was not in cooking the bacon. The mistake was jumping out of the shower and running to the kitchen in fashionable naked attire to turn the bacon over in the frying pan. If you have never heard this before, let me be the one to inform you.

As the bacon grease popped out onto my skin, I quickly recognized the mistake. However, the damage had already been done, and I carried the marks to prove it. Those little red marks on my body reminded me throughout the day of the importance of choosing my naked moments in life very wisely.

So, why am I telling you this silly story, and what does it have to do with our topic at hand?

Simply this! If I had of not been in such a hurry, if I had listened to my head and not the appetite of my body, if I had considered more closely how the fire that warms can also be the fire that burns, I would have exercised better judgment in deciding to be naked with a pig.

Here is the irony of this story.

People get naked with pigs all the time.

Girls get naked in smoke-filled strip clubs for people who are only using them to feed selfish appetites and desires. Magazine stands are stocked with glossy paged centerfolds being used by grubby, gutter minded, greedy people to boost their bank accounts. Spring Breakers throw caution and values to the wind and become full-of-brandy-eye-candy for others living in the moment. The Girls Gone Wild video ads promoted on late night television are great examples of people getting naked with pigs whose main purpose is to make money off the girls they exploit. The Internet is a breeding ground for people being used to feed the selfish and impure thought lives of men and women all around the world.

Yes, people get naked with pigs all the time.

Every day young ladies feel pressured to get naked because they fear the only way they can keep their boyfriend interested is by doing so. Both guys and girls get in such a hurry to have sex that they allow the dictates of their body's appetites and desires to weaken their defenses until they end up making poor judgments that burn them for years to come.

In your pursuit of a lasting relationship, please don't forget this little story. Rushing into sex and chasing the desires of the body has so many living for the moment that they are missing the lifetime. Be careful that the fire that is supposed to warm your life doesn't become the fire that burns it, and do keep your clothes on in the presence of pigs.

Journey With Jessica – So Long Status Quo

Hi again everyone!

"So this is the story of how, slowly, I began to get off the couch of my boring, safe, sheltered, vanilla existence to something more real, sharper, in focus. This is how I got up off the couch and tried, with much fear and trembling, to make a difference in my world. And I’ll never go back."

I can so relate. Can't you? I love my couch- my safe, little, snuggly, wuggly couch. It has been said of my personality type, "Why run if you can walk; why walk if you can stand; why stand if you can sit; why sit if you can lay down," so even better than many I can get lost in the confines of my own comfort. But that isn't what we were designed for, is it? God gave us muscles to move and stretch. God gave us ears to hear what is going on around us. God gave us a tongue to speak and be heard. So as comfortable as I am on that couch, I was not designed to stay on that couch. Susy gives me lots of ideas for what I can do with my time instead. I just may never go back either.

Ladies and gentlemen, you've just got to meet Susy Flory

SPONSOR: Ladies, how would you like to become the kind of woman than men adore and never want to leave? If you find you are able to attract a relationship but sometimes struggle keeping it, find out how you can become the kind of woman men adore.
